Behind the Scenes
This project offers students the possibility to visit different multinational companies which have a representative in Switzerland. This allows them to discover the facilities of the company, as well as gain a feeling of what it would be like to work in the environment of the respective enterprise. It is also a good opportunity to create contacts and add to ones professional network. Visits in the past have offered an insight into companies such as: P&G, Blancpain, Clinique La Prairie, Gucci, L’Oréal, Dell and Hublot. Our last visit took place at the Geneva International Airport.
Working Lunches
The Career Club supports the EHL Career Center with the co-promotion and co-presentation of the working lunches. Each working lunch has a different topic of discussion which aims at teaching various skills to students, such as how to sell oneself in times of crisis.
DSS
The Distinguished Speaker Series (DSS) invites industry leaders to come and give speeches at EHL for the benefit of students. The Career Club works in conjunction with the DSS in organizing the marketing, background information of the speakers, and focus groups with the speakers.
YHS
Held at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne on the 28th and 29th January 2010, the YHS was the first student run hospitality summit bringing together students from prestigious hotel schools around the world. It was a unique opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge and ideas, demonstrate their skills and to add to their professional network. The YHS featured a competition amongst teams composed of members from different participating schools competing against each other to give solution to a creativity challenge proposed by the Jumeirah Group. It was a huge success and received a lot of press coverage. Plans for YHS 2011 are currently made in order to build on this tremendous success.
REC Days
Twice a year, a selection of companies come to EHL to recruit students for internships or jobs. The Career Club plays a key role in hosting the companies throughout the duration of the REC days. It thus emphasizes the added value of students that take part in extracurricular work towards these companies.
Hosting Industry Leaders
We frequently host industry leaders who come to visit EHL. Career Club members get the chance to show them around campus and have lunch or dinner with them. This is a great opportunity to make valuable contacts.
